The insurance company refused to compensate our client.

The latter had taken a lawn from a major Greek bank. The bank demanded that our client insured the lawn, so the former would be compensated if our client could not pay back the lawn in case of loss of her ability to work and have a steady income.

Our client paid her monthly instalments for several years, until she was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, a disease that made her unable to work.
It was at that time when she appointed our law office with negotiating his compensation according with the insurance contract.

The insurance company refused to compensate her, with the excuse that our client was already ill when she negotiated her lawn and insurance, thus she already was aware of the fact, and that her intentions in the first place were to ask for the compensation and avoid paying for the lawn.

After a thorough examination by a neurologist, he pointed out with his expertise, that the illness had not given any visible symptoms at the time of the agreement with the insurance company.
In Court, the latter insisted with their claim and even brought an anti-expertise from their own neurologists, to support it.

After extracting all the data from our client’s medical file and under the guidance from her treating Doctors, in order to present our case to the Court in the best way possible, the desired result was finally achieved.

The Court delivered their judgment, obliging the insurance company to compensate us with a sum of circa 100.000 Euros, including expenses and interest.
After negotiating with the insurance company, the latter did not file an appeal, but within two months from the Court’s Judgment, they paid us the compensation in full.
Our client was relieved from her monthly installments, of about 450 Euros per month, and with the remaining sum, she was financially relieved in a period of severe hardship for her and her family.
As a law firm, we were very pleased to be of assistance to a family in crisis and to help a just cause.
